Management Team
Michael P. Thompson, Chairman & CEO. Mr.
Thompson is the founder of TuitionFund® and has been involved in
the development of the Tuition Fund concept since 1998. From 1979 to 1985, Mr. Thompson owned a television production studio and editing facilities in Los Angeles where he produced and syndicated television programming, including the Mike Douglas Show and the Richard Simmons Show.
From 1988 to 1996, Mr. Thompson owned and operated
five television stations in Tennessee. Since the late 80's, Mr. Thompson actively pursued different business ventures that concentrated on helping to improve the quality of children's
programming. He has served on the Affiliate Boards of both the FOX
and UPN networks.
Larry D. Haugen provides consulting and advisory
services to TuitionFund® in the areas of strategic planning and positioning,
research and analysis, media promotion, financial systems and other
administrative matters. From 1997 to the present, Mr. Haugen has
been involved in actively managing his private investments and providing
some consulting and advisory services. From 1993 to 1997, he served
as a Vice President, Broadcast Division, for New World
Television, which owned and operated twelve major market television
stations. New World Television and its affiliated entities were
sold to News Corporation in January, 1997. Prior to joining New
World, Mr. Haugen served as Vice President of Finance, Broadcast
Division, for Gillett Holdings, Inc., from 1982 through 1993. From
1979 through 1982, he was a certified public accountant with Arthur
Young & Co. in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Mr. Haugen graduated summa
cum laude from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in 1979 with
a B.B.A. degree in accounting.
